Nest Base Wiring Overview

The Nest Base features push-button connector terminals that accept 18 to 22 gauge solid thermostat wire without screws.

  1. Turn off HVAC Power: Shut off breaker to protect the 24V transformer.
  2. Attach Base: Use the built-in bubble level on the Nest base to ensure a straight mount.
  3. Insert Wires: Press the connector button and insert the wire until the button stays down.
  4. Connect Display: Push the Nest stainless steel ring unit onto the base until it clicks.
